The YTK Unemployment Fund Board has proposed a membership fee of 105 € for next year and the Financial Supervisory Authority has approved it. The membership fee is paid once a year and is tax deductible.
The main factor that affects the amount of the YTK Unemployment Fund contribution is the unemployment rate of its members, because as unemployment increases, we have to set aside more money for the benefits we pay out. Unemployment is forecast to rise and this will be reflected in our contribution.
For this year, we had estimated unemployment at around 7.5%. Until the summer, this estimate was correct, but unemployment has since started to rise with the recession. Our assumption is that next year unemployment will rise to around 8% and the membership fee will reflect this increase.
Each month, the YTK Unemployment Fund pays around 40-50 000 of its members income support. This year, the total amount of benefits to be paid will reach around 683 € million.
The most effective action
As a member of the YTK Unemployment Fund, you can be confident even in a recession. According to a cash register benchmarking survey carried out by the Financial Supervisory Authority, we are the most efficient cash register. This means, for example, that we can pay your benefit payments with the lowest costs. If the YTK did not operate so efficiently, our membership fees would have to be much higher.

Next year’s membership fees will be sent out in January. In order for your payment to be received, we need your up-to-date contact details. Please remember to check that they are up to date! You can easily check and update your contact details on OmaYTK.
