Management of YTK Unemployment Fund

Running and managing an unemployment fund requires versatile expertise and solid know-how. We have those!

Organisation of YTK Unemployment Fund

We employ more than two hundred unemployment security professionals.

Our office is located in Loimaa, from where we handle the processing of applications and customer service. The production of our services is supported by business premises maintenance, finance and investment operations, HR, law, public relations and lobbying as well as development and IT.

We also have premises in Turku, where we carry out application processing and customer service.

All unemployment funds are corporations operating in accordance with the principle of mutual responsibility, which means that our members are also the owners of YTK Unemployment Fund and decide how YTK works. This is why YTK’s highest decision-making body is the annual meeting of our members, which elects our Board of Directors. YTK’s Board of Directors consists of a Chairman and four members. Each year, the Board of Directors elects a Vice Chairman from among its members and appoints a secretary to the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors also appoints YTK’s Managing Director and, based on the Managing Director’s proposals, the other members of YTK’s Management Team.

YTK’s Board of Directors in 2024

YTK’s Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing the operation of the fund and its senior management. For this work, the members of the Board of Directors must have sufficient expertise and know-how.

According to the position of the Financial Supervisory Authority, the administration in the unemployment fund requires legal, financial, unemployment security, investment, management, internal control and risk management skills. Our Board of Directors has all these.

We are proud of our Directors – with their help, the number of members is increasing, administrative costs are the lowest among all unemployment funds, measured customer satisfaction is at its peak and we have also been voted one of the best places to work in Finland several times!
