Muddled unemployment
There has been lively public debate about the unemployment situation in Finland. There is no consensus on whether the unemployment situation is normal, bad, or very bad. The situation is complicated by numerous legislative changes. What is happening?

Do you know a young person who is preparing for a TET period?
Tell them about TET.fi! It is a service for young people and employers where you can search for a suitable TET placement and learn the skills needed in working life.
We at YTK support the Children and Youth Foundation’s TET.fi service because we want to strengthen young people’s readiness for working life. In our publicly available materials, we explain the basics of employment contracts and how to prepare for changes in working life. School counselors use these materials, and you can also use them to help your own young people prepare for working life!

Your membership fee will remain unchanged
The YTK Unemployment Fund membership fee for 2026 is €102. The fund’s membership fee is still tax deductible. The membership fee is mainly affected by the unemployment situation of the members. The economic outlook for next year is uncertain, and unemployment is expected to remain close to this year’s figures. Therefore, we can keep the membership fee the same.
Financial security and comprehensive support for job seekers
By paying your membership fee, you ensure that your income security remains intact. Income security is an important financial benefit if you become unemployed, work part-time, or are laid off. As a member of YTK, you can also apply for a mobility allowance if your job is located far from home, and transition security if you are over 55 years old and have been dismissed.

Let’s challenge young people to read!
“Reading is a prerequisite for things like getting a good job contract or understanding income security decisions, not to mention the fact that reading also brings a lot of joy,” says Ilona Kangas, Director of Communications and Customer Relations at YTK.
YTK supports the Lukuboost campaign, which challenges young people to read for 15 minutes a day.
Tell your friends about worklife security
Many people describe YTK as easy, effective, honest, and affordable. Membership provides security and peace of mind in unexpected situations at work. YTK is suitable for all employees. Tell your friends about preparedness and the most important security in working life!
