Do this when you find employment
- Congratulations! A new job is always an exciting step forward.
- Notify us when you start working in your daily allowance application. You do not need to notify us separately by message or phone call.
- Keep your YTK membership valid. That way, your income security will remain with you through the ups and downs of your working life.

You are employed full-time
You do not need to notify us separately when you start work. If you start work during the application period, end the application period on the day before you start work. After that, the application form will ask you to state the reason for the shorter application period. Report that you have found employment by selecting I started full-time work lasting more than two weeks.
Keep your membership with us valid. That way, you will accumulate new working condition when you are working.
When you become employed, you will not lose the days remaining in your maximum payment period. If you become unemployed again before you fulfill the working condition again, the remaining days in your maximum payment period will still be available to you.
If you become unemployed again later and have also fulfilled the working condition again, we will recalculate the amount of your earnings-related daily allowance and you will receive a new maximum payment period, which will be available to you after the waiting period. If you still have payment days left from the previous period, the level of your earnings-related daily allowance will be protected so that the new earnings-related daily allowance will be at least 80% of the daily allowance previously paid. This means that you can also accept lower-paid work than before without fear of a significant reduction in the amount of your earnings-related daily allowance

Työllistyessäsi et menetä enimmäismaksuajasta jäljellä olevia päiviä. Jos määräaikainen työsi päättyy ennen kuin täytät työssäoloehdon uudestaan, voimme jatkaa ansiopäivärahan maksamista jäljelle jääneillä päivillä.

Full-time work lasting no more than two weeks
If you are employed in full-time work lasting less than two weeks, you can apply for adjusted earnings-related daily allowance. Continue your job search and apply for earnings-related daily allowance as normal. Indicate on the application form that you have been employed for less than two weeks. Select the option “I have been working…” on the application form and enter the days you have worked in the daily information section. Attach your employment contract.
When we pay you adjusted earnings-related daily allowance, your maximum payment period will expire more slowly. If, due to a restriction, we cannot pay you adjusted earnings-related daily allowance for the application period, your maximum payment period will not expire at all for that period.
Even with short-term jobs, you have the opportunity to accumulate new working condition. When the working days requirement is met, we will recalculate the amount of your earnings-related daily allowance and you will receive a new maximum payment period, which will be available to you after the waiting period. If you still have payment days left from the previous period, the level of your earnings-related daily allowance is protected so that the new daily allowance is at least 80% of the daily allowance previously paid. This means that you can also take on lower-paid work than before without fear of a significant reduction in the amount of your earnings-related daily allowance.
Part-time work
If you find part-time work, you can apply for adjusted earnings-related daily allowance. Keep your job search active and apply for earnings-related daily allowance as normal. Indicate the hours you have worked on your application. When you start part-time work, send us your employment contract.
